Integrating home video collection into SMM

Hello,
I would appreciate any suggestions you all might have on how I can seamlessly integrate my home video collection into SMM. I try the best I can to spend time reading forums, google, and wiki's for answers but can't seem to get a good grasp on doing this with home videos. I noticed an earlier post with Diamond theme genre icons. I plan to use these as I noticed one of the genre icons has been designed for home videos and will use the Diamond theme when released.
So if my structure is using genres, my understanding is I would need to add these to collection management, and I would need to make sure the home videos have the genre tag as "home videos", in order for the genre to correctly sort, correct? The problem in doing this though is when I add for example, "Brianna at State Fair", I get soft porn covers and unrelated covers for the titles. I plan to make my own covers and backdrops. Has anyone successfully adding home videos to SMM and can you give tell me your system for doing that. It would be very much appreciated.

Not home movies but movies that dont get hits in the database. Its not a problem, same thing.

Just add your title manually. I would recommend they be in a separate folder with monitoring turned off so that you dont automatch. Then just go to colleciton management and add the title. Upload a cover and description, set the genre and you are good to go.
