Resolved conflicts slow to update in V7?

Hey Guys,

It was a long time ago for me and I never ran into many conflicts because I didn't have too many channels and 3 tuners but when I did it seemed like when I went to resolve them, it was shown instantly in the icon in the top bar as well as in the area where you resolve conflicts for V6.

Now that I'm on V7, I have added a few more capture devices along with a ton more channels so have been getting a lot of conflicts. When I go to resolve these conflicts I typically do so by selecting one of the shows and indicating "Don't Like" and sometimes "Watched". I would think Sage would see this and immediately update the status in the top bar as well as in the resolve conflicts area but it doesn't. I can stay in this menu area for a very long time and it seems like nothing updates? I also have the "hidden secrets" bar at the bottom and it still shows the same number of shows to record. I've played around in other areas of the menu before for what seems like 15 or 20 minutes and nothing changes. Usually, though, if I watch an hour long show, when the show is done THEN the icon at the top will be gone, the hidden secrets bar at the bottom will have changed, and the conflict resolution area has changed (removed the shows that were in conflict).

Just curious if this is normal behavior in V7 in how long it takes for this to update?

Thanks!

V7 increased the default scheduling lookahead to 14 days (from 3, meaning it actively schedules out 14 days). I'd guess the combination of more tuners, more channels, and more days causes the scheduler to take a lot longer to run.

Thanks, stanger. Is this also applicable for what I talked about where I have a show with a conflict and I select one of the shows and say I don't like it... you'd think that at that time it would show that there was no longer a conflict but it doesn't. Even taking longer to run, 30 minutes of computing seems a lot Maybe in V7 it doesn't run this check as often as in V6?

It is kinda a pain when you have 7 conflicts pop up and sometimes they are 3 deep. I go through and resolve them (or think I do) but then have to check back later to make sure because nothing changes at the time I do the resolution (pretty sure it changed instantly in V6).

The way I understand it, you won't really see the update (by doing it that way) until the scheduler completes a rerun.

You should be able to reduce the scheduling lookahead and see if that helps.

IIRC you can see activity from the scheduler in the log. One of the entries being how long it's going to sleep for until the next run.

I see. I do like the scheduler looking ahead further so if that is the case I'll just have to check back later and see if I got them all Thanks!

As was mentioned above, changing the Watched or Don't Like status of an airing doesn't update the schedule immediately. In terms of conflicts, though, I sometimes mark the airing as Watched, then toggle it as a Manual Recording & back off again, which usually completely removes the conflict for that airing.

If my data for multiple lineups in both the US and Canada is any indication, then it actually only schedules out 12 days, because I've never seen Sage populated with more than that many days worth of data yet. Which is in fact something I've been wanting to mention t Sage...

The other two days stretch into the past. The 14 day schedule includes those. Or so I've always assumed.
