Fresh install or install over existing setup?
I want to upgrade to v7, but am trying to decide if I should do a fresh install of Sage or just install over my current version, which is the most up-to-date version of 6 with SageMC and a few other things I can't remember any more, and I think it was installed ontop of version 5.
My concern is that v7 won't work as well if it's installed over the current version. Comments? Thanks, Mike |

I installed version 7 over version 6. Version 7 and several plugins work perfectly.

I've been installing over my existing setup since V2 and never had a problem. But then I'm not a SageMC user nor a big consumer of third-party plugins (other than my own).
If you have a lot of V6 add-ons that you're not sure how to uninstall manually, then a fresh start might be best, since the V7 versions of those plugins might not be able to clean up the V6 leftovers. If you do decide to start fresh, then obviously you'll want to make a full backup of your existing V6 setup before nuking it. You'll also want to restore your V6 Wiz.bin after installing V7 in order to preserve your existing recordings.
