I read through the FAQ and found no mention of the anything having to do with the initial setup of the tuner.
Scanning channels, Editing or adding channels, selecting various database choices for your market.
1.
Is there a way you can narrow down the channel search? 98% of the US TV markets do not have any low band channels and 80-85% (give or take) do not have any VHF channels altogether. Why waste time scanning vacant spectrum?? WinTV V7 gives the option of specifying the channel range. This is especially useful for CATV QAM channels since most CATV systems start their digital channels around ch. 70, and stop at channel 117 (or 125). This also allows a single channel scan of a known good channel.
2.
Why are there three listings for each market; Analog, Digital and Local?? Except for LPTV stations, analog is dead in the US (though active in Canada until next summer). What is the "Local" choice for? What's the difference between that and the others?
3.
How can you get analog and digital channel listed together? I hope it isn't one or the other.
4.
Available analog channels didn't show after a scan. Adding entries for those channels by entering in xx and then xx-0 for channel numbers didn't work, all I got was "no signal" on those channels.
5.
How can I edit a stations call letters I manually added (when a mistake was made to the call letters)? Also, how can I delete (not just skip) an entry completely?
