Interesting issue, hopefully fixed in .17?
While still using .16, Saturday night I was using the music feature during a party at our house. I was in and out of the room where the HD300 (and attached stereo playing the tunes) is located. At some point, the music stopped. I opened up the armoire and the HD300 was off. No one had touched it - it just turned off. I estimate that it had been running for 2.5 to 3 hours.
When I turned it back on with the remote, the light turned blue, but nothing came on the screen. I rebooted it by unplugging, and when I plugged it back in, it gave me the message that the auto-start via the server "{name}" was unable to connect, and that it would send a WOL packet. But it just sat there. So I turned on the radio and forgot about it until morning. Sunday morning I rebooted the server, rebooted my LAN switch, rebooted the extender again. The HD300 gave me the same WOL message, but after a wait, it found the server and resumed working. Later Sunday afternoon, I had been watching TV (without touching the remote - watching football) for just about 2.5 hours, and the HD300 extender turned off. Right about that same time, my wife was using the HD200 upstairs, and reported that it was locked up. The HD300 behaved the same way as the night before, so I shut it off. I had never seen this issue with my HD200s or HD100s. But I knew that if I submitted a bug report, I would get the "please upgrade to release .17", so I just went ahead and did that. The HD300 started right up after I finished the install. No word on what happens after 2.5+ hours of watching without hitting a button, though - that'll probably not happen again until next weekend (football again). Hopefully, whatever issue it was, was something fixed in .17. Since I don't watch a lot of movies (and most aren't that long), the only times I will ever probably be able to test if this is some sort of "time out" will be during football games, or when I am using it for music. So this could be an issue that many people have not had a chance to even test (many don't have anything running for 2.5+ hours continuously without touching anything).

My HD300 shut off randomly on me as well a couple of times. First using .16 and once again using .17. I submitted a but report, but haven't heard back yet. Mine wasn't on for an extended period of time like 2.5+ hours. Mine shut off minutes after turning it on and while using the remote to navigate. I also didn't run into an issue with connecting to the server, but I did once see it have to send a WOL packet.
