HVR-2250: dead under Sage7, perfect with Hauppauge software

I am a new Sage user. Started with demo V6 on a fresh WIN7 Home Premium 64-bit install. Added two HVR-2250s. Most of the time I got error messages that the 'capture' device was not working, but got something at least half the time. Contacted Sage Tech Support, who advised to switch to V7. Now the tuners are completely dead; cannot get anything at all under any setting. So I tried the Hauppauge software and all tuners are perfect, all channels.

I hated Windows Media Center, but at least it worked with these tuner cards.

OS = WIN7 Home Premium 64
Source = OTA; UHF antenna pointed to Sutro Tower in San Francisco
TV = Pioneer plasma
Server/host = dedicated, not used for anything else.

More...

Maybe I just did not notice before, but I uninstalled both tuner cards, reinstalled just one tuner on one card, and when I did the scann it came back all zeroes; no channels found at all. Hauppauge continues to work perfectly. It would seem to me that the Sage software needs to either emulate that of WINTV or control it as a background task, emulating IR commands to WINTV to control the cards.

I have the same problem with my HVR 1600 all of a sudden under Sagetv 7 I cannot tune channels that are 100% signal strength. I can tune them fine under SageTV 6. I get no signal and the bar stays full red when previewing.

I got mine working perfectly. I think the issue was upgrading from 6 to 7. The instructions say that you do not have to uninstall 6. But the fix was to uninstall all SAGE programs, then delete from where stored, remove both tuners, then restart. Then I loaded SAGE7 from scratch, restarted. Then added in one tuner card and restarted, then launched SAGE and installed the tuner card as a source. This time no problem. Turned off, added the second card, then installed it under SAGE too. Now all four tuners working fine.

I forgot; I also uninstalled the Hauppauge software WINTV, though I expect that the driver was still installed. I did not reinstall WINTV (I had only used it to verify that the tuners were electronically OK).
