2250 issues...no picture at all
ok...so somewhere over the last few weeks my 2250 has stopped working. It is no longer tuning the clear QAM channels. If i switch it to analog it will not tune those channels.
It shows signal strength 100% but when i try to preview a channel it get's stuck 'loading preview, please wait'. I checked on a TV directly connected to cable that can tune digital HD and the channels still exist. Just tried the latest driver for the 2250 from Hauppage but no luck. Any suggestions? Football in SD sucks and TV season is starting and i need all my tuners (I have a PVR500 dual analog also) to take care of all the shows my wife wants to watch. The only change i can possibly think of that i made would be that i added ram to my server (Winxp 32 bit) up to 4GB but ofcourse only 3. whatever is recognized. When i ran Win2k3 as my OS (since i guess that OS actually reconizes it as 4GB) this was an issue with the PVR500 but that one seems to be fine with Winxp 32 bit now. Any suggestions? I would prefer not to pull the ram... EDIT: Pulled the ram, no difference, still no picture. I wonder if my tuner 2250 is just bad. Last edited by MavRic; 09-19-2010 at 07:43 PM. |

Did you try the Hauppauge Software just to make sure it isn't a Sage setup issue?

Just installed WinTV and even during it there is no channels to be found.
On my regular TV i can go to channel 7-1 and it will say 'Digital HD' and has a very nice picture so i assume Comcast hasn't stopped sending those channels through. Last thing check is whether that particular cable happens to be bad...but i highly doubt it. I'll take the cable from the PVR500 (which i know receives good signal and is tuning analog cable just fine) and connect it to the HVR2250, but i doubt that is it. Any other suggestions? Got a mail into Hauppage tech support..they;re supposed to get back to me in 2 days (which a link to a FAQ or something similarly lame i am sure). EDIT: ok..i'm embarrased now..can we delete this whole thread? I remember now i moved the server and apparently plugged the cable in the FM antenna connection on the 2250 rather than the TV. All is good, the device is fine. I got 2 HD tuners now and 2 analog. Just in time for the start of TV season...so the WAF is good. Last edited by MavRic; 09-20-2010 at 06:11 PM. |
