Anyone using HD-PVR 1.5.7.0 July 1, 2010 drivers?
Is anyone using the Hauppauge HD-PVR version 1.5.7.0, July 1, 2010 driver? If so, is it more stable than the older driver? I thought about trying the newer driver. I am using the older driver version 1.5.6.1, May 1, 2009 which seemed to be more stable. Maybe it would be worth trying to improve the HD-PVR stability. I still have lockup problems every several weeks which I may try to fix with auto power cycling if the newer driver isn't more stable than the older driver.

I've been using the 1.5.7.0 drivers for my two HD PVRs since a few days after they were released. I've had no issues - but I had no issues with the previous drivers all the way back to the first that supported DD 5.1.
I do shut down/restart my entire system daily though.

I've been using them since release as well, at first on win7 64bit and I could go about 10 days without issue (typical of older drivers as well), I rebuilt my sage box last week and I have not had a lock yet on win7 32bit so I am crossing my fingers.

I tried 1.5.7.0 for a couple of days once it came out, but found it less stable. I noticed e.g. problems related to channel changes, when using live tv (which I know does not apply to many people using Sage). The hdpvr would lock up, when I tried to change changes too quickly (e.g. move from channel A to B, back to A, then move to C etc.)
This problem did not exist with the previous one, which has been working fine for me for a long time. |

Dave I've been using 1.5.7.0 since release and it's been the most stable driver Rev so far, even using the TOSLINK connection for DD5.1. And, for me at least, ditching the HDPVR blaster seems to have added to overall stability. |

No, I'm not using the hdpvr blaster. I'm using an MCE blaser, which works fine. The problem that I've seen wasn't really about blasting the channels, as the STB switches correctly. But the hdpvr always needs a couple of 2nds until it is stabilized, and due to the quick channel changes it stumbled with this specific driver.

Ive tried them several times, but found they increased the delay between changing channels significantly, so Ive gone back to the 1.5.6.0 whql release.

I've been using the drivers for several weeks with no problems but I think one of problems was a STB that I had Verizon replace. The new box hasn't missed a channel change and I haven't had a single lockup. (Of course, now that I've said this I will experience the mother of all lockups.)

I just upgraded both my HD-PVRs to the latest driver and have not seen any change at all. Everything is still perfect.
