Playing back non-copy protected home-made blu-ray/DVD disks on HD-200/HD-300
I totally enjoy sageTV 7's ability to mount non-copy protected bluray / DVD standard discs (such as home movies from vacations, etc that I made) on my sageTV server and play them back through the network on my HD-200. I'm curious if there's a way to do this as well in HD-200/HD-300 standalone mode too. This would seem to be a major advantage over other media boxes such as apple TV/WD TV Live.
Taking it a step further, what would happen if hook up a USB 2.0 bluray external disk drive to the HD-200/HD-300? Would there be native driver support.. similar concept to plugging in a generic USB Wi-fi adapter. It would be great to just pop in a home made DVD disc in an external DVD-Bluray drive and get full DVD support on the HD-200 (just like a DVD STB)... and blu-ray standard discs (without the extended features). This is REALLY pushing it, but if this would work, maybe it can also be done in standalone mode? Thanks, Michael
