New Tuner Time...
I looked around and couldn't find any analog specific threads...
It's time to add a new tuner, and as I'm a cheap b*stard I only have analog cable... So which tuner is best? I've already got a spattering of Hauppage tuners (internal and external) and was wondering if going with the 1600 again will be fine or if I should look at different ones? I'm considering an HDHR for a bit later in the year to begin my transition into HD (with the theater 300, etc), but for now I just need something before the fall starts and I need the extra tuner. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks!

You may also be getting QAM channels (HD) as well. Have you plugged a cable into the digital tuner of the HVR?

I did previously, but I need to do some new homeruns, the current cables are a mess (previous homeowner thought it would be fun to see how many splitters they could put in)

I'd probably go with the HVR-2250. It can record from 2 sources simultaneously, and it is very flexible in that it can handle any combination of analog/digital OTA, analog/digital (clear QAM) Cable, SD video via RCA Composite, or SD video via S-Video.
So you are good to go with cable, satellite, FIOS, or OTA, which makes it relatively future-proof in case you change your mind and add digital cable in the future. The only thing it does not support is HD output from a cable/satellite box (Component or HDMI).

Thanks for the replies...
I ended up going with another 1600. For the 2250 I'd have to redo the entire server, which while tempting, not going to happen for now. It gives me the benefits of the 2250, without the PCI express need.
