Can anyone comment on the speed of scrolling through photos and downloading of thumbnails? That was really the only thing that I thought was slow on the HD200. Does it have more memory so that more thumbnails are ready when I jump to the next page of music or photos? Other than that, I thought moving to v7 was all the increase in UI responsiveness that I needed.

I'll definitely get one regardless, the question is what the secondary market value of HD200's will be before deciding whether to swap that out too.

It does do the background loading faster yes. There are still some delays for it to load all of them.

I sure hope the loading is faster on the 300 than the 100 as the WAF is bad bad bad, having to wait for those images to load, although not long.... it adds a considerable amount of time to load these VS ver 6.

I ordered a HD-300 several days ago. I've seen the post saying the HD-300 units are in stock now. I did not receive an e-mail yet telling me about a shipping date. Do I need to contact SageTV to determine if the HD-300 is shipped?

Dave

Since you just ordered a few days ago you might not have made it into the first shipping batch. I received my shipping notification but I had placed my order on the first day available.

Dave,

They just came into stock yesterday. SageTV is probably processing hundreds of orders from the pre-order (based on the order numbers given in this or some other thread) and you should just be a little patient. Trust me, they want to collect your money just as quickly as you want it shipped

Relax, Dave, I ordered mine about 3 or 4 days after preorder started, and I have not received the shipping notice yet.

And my first HD100 died this morning. I ordered an HD300 and capacitors for the HD100... we'll see which gets here first.

can anyone comment on any improvement in steaming video (e.g. youtube) vs. hd200? i sometimes find hd200 can't stream HD videos and was wondering if hd300 has more video buffer space and perhaps can smooth out things that the hd200 cannot.

anyone with a unit able to comment?

No comparison. The HD300 is much-much faster than the HD100.
Any delays noticed are due to the server doing its thing.

I received a shipping notice around 5 PM Eastern today (Sunday). Were Sage people working through the weekend to make shipping labels for these things??

Not always true there is still a delay background loading images. Although it is faster than the hd100 and about 2 times as fast as the hd200 there are still delays when images are background loaded.

There is a lot more memory in the HD300 - Can any of that be harnessed for image buffers for plugins - or is it all spoken for when the extender runs in standalone mode?

I wish it could I was asked and told no it couldn't be accessed that way. I was really hoping to be able to write the fanart posters to the local extender cache performance would be amazing that way, but apparently it is only able to be used in standalone mode.
