HD200: "303" = Invalid Workgroup Name

In my HD200's native (unconnected to a SageTV server) setup mode, I'm doing a Settings | Server | Windows File Server Workgroup | Name For Windows File Sharing | Other

The name of my home LAN workgroup is "303". A bunch of PC's are connected to it all day every day... no problem.

But when I specify that name the HD200 throws "'303' is an invalid workgroup name".

Can anybody elucidate?

Is it saying that the HD200 can't find such a workgroup?

Or is it saying that an all-numeric workgroup name is syntactically incorrect?

Or something else?

Avoid using any special characters and all number in workgroup name
Workgroup names must contain some letters if going use number.

That seems to suggest that Sage is imposing it's own rules on what constitutes a valid Windows workgroup name.

Have I got it right?

If so, since "303" is the name of an existing workgroup - that's working a-ok in an existing Windows LAN, wouldn't that be a bug in Sage?

Maybe some holdover from the Linux world?

I have never heard of that being an issue for SMB on linux. I would suggest filing a bug report as it may be a STV issue. (Form validation)

btw - I never noticed what icon Apple uses to denote a Windows server/computer on the network.

No that problem is with all OS even back in days of Dos/Win3.x and I'm supize it even working for you at all and it is not valid to us an all-numeric workgroup name.
