Is there any free digital signage software that could be used with SageTV?

I was doing a few searches on the web for digital signage solutions that would be able to use information from SageTV to generate full images and didn't really turn up anything that was quite to my liking and the things that might fit the bill where pay for. I don't want this badly enough that I'm willing to shell out any money, but I was just wondering if there's a popular way people are doing something like this for free that I missed.

A strange thing happened to me when I found a great deal on a wireless picture frame and bought it. I felt compelled to write a program with a built-in editor to generate my own signage based on SageTV information so I could keep it all in house and ad free. I've attached a few screenshots of what I've been working on to give a better idea of what I'm try to accomplish. I guess I just want to make sure I'm not re-inventing the wheel because this kind of project is very time consuming.
