good free mpeg2 cutter software?

I have some *.mpeg files that I want ot cut commercials out of manually (not with comskip). The files were captured by sage 2.1 and a hauppauge250 card at "dvd-sp" quality.

Mpeg2scnnitt and cuttermaran dont read interleaved mpeg2 and vdubmod doesn't write mpeg.

I tried the nanopeg software that came with the 250 and it was both slow and cut a big segment not on the cutlist when I told it to generate a movie. I deleted the problem cut segments and tried generating movie again but there was no change in the output.

Am I stuck with nanopeg or is there a better solution?

Video ReDo and Womble MPEG2VCR are both much better than nanopeg, but they aren't free.

I used to use MPEG2VCR but when I tried VideoReDo I switched pretty quickly. It's much better IMHO.

Personally I don't like the VRD interface, but then again, I've never liked the "pretty" (reand not-standard-windows) interfaces
