Dolby digital 5.1 Channels

When I was using Sagetv 6.6 My receiver played my dvd movies in 5.1. With sagetv v7 latest beta 7.015 I cannot get it to play in anything but stereo. I reinstalled sagetv ver 6.6 to double check and make sure it was not settings in windows and again I got back my surround 5.1. I then removed sagetv 6.6 and installed sagetv v7.015 and again nothing more than stereo. I have tried selecting the AC3 filter and it makes no difference. Is ther something I am doing wrong or is it a bug?

In AC3Filter what were you seeing as the incoming audio format in v7?

I don't understand what you mean when you say "in ac3 filter what did you see". I set the ac3 filter in the settings. If you can look at what is coming in, how do you do that?

When AC3Filter is in the decoding chain and a video file containing AC3 is played, you should see a little yellow-orange icon pop-up in the Windows task bar (toggle the playback from full screen to window to see the task bar). This is AC3Filter saying its engaged for playback. Double click the icon and you'll get a window (looks the same as the AC3Filter config window). On the far left you'll see the "Decoder Info" box and that will tell you what kind of audio material is being decoded.

If AC3Filter is for some reason not coming up with v7, then something else is going on, but we'll get to that later if need be.

Go into the SageTV folder while SageTV isn't running and open up AC3filter. There's an option on the SYSTEM tab that says "Show tray icon". Make sure that's checked. Click OK and start up SageTV again.

The box for the icon was not checked , so I checked it, but I also noticed it was not set to use sfdif which is what I use. I checked off the box for spdif. Now it does work in 5.1. Thanks very much for all your help.
