Dolby Digital

Hi lots of movies on digital cable are broadcast in Dolby Digital. But my PVR150-MCE only has stereo input for audio. Is there anyway I can capture all 5 audio channels? My Sage box has SPDIF out and DVD's I watch are in DD5.1. It's just the TV Tuner card that drops the audio to 2 channel.

short answer, nope.

you could capture a DD source through spdif in but trying to sync that real time with video captured by the pvr-150 would be extremely difficult.

I would asume if you could use the firewire port of your digital cable STB, you would record the DD also. Has anyone tried the Firewire option with thier SageTV to see if it recorded the DD also?

Trick with that is, you're not "recording" per-se but capturing the bitstream. Thus you get whatever's in the bitstream, so if the stream has DD you get it.

Unfortunately there's no Firewire port on the DCT2500, there's a serial port and a USB port. I wanted to try and connect my PC to the serial port to try and use it to change channels, but the manual says "DO NOT CONNECT TO PC". I took the big capital letters as a warning and didn't try.
