This is what I have as well and LCD Writer is working for me, at least it seems to be. My DVR has not gone to sleep early since I started using it, although it was kinda random before. I'll post back here I find it still fails.

@TwistedMelon. I reported (and posted) this four years ago to no avail. Endless searches later and I finally found babgvand....in this forum. I'm very glad that I did. It is still an issue with the current beta so this forum is appropriate. Perhaps by posting here, the powers that be will be more aware of the problem and find a solution. If not, there's help in this thread for users who need it.

Please report it again through the appropriate bug reporting form. As Sage employees have said countless times, it's the only official way to report a bug and the best way for them to track its progress.

In the bug report include a link to this thread.

If it happens in every version of Sage then it should most definitely not be a discussion in the beta forum, because most Sage users (by a long shot) do not participate in this forum and therefore will not see anything about the issue.

Anyway, that's besides the point. Report it so that Sage is newly aware of the issue and can work with you to get it fixed.

Okay. I recieved a reply from Support:

"Try setting this in your Sage.properties file while SageTV is not running:

power_management_idle_timeout=1800000

It's in milliseconds. So that will be 1/2 hour. (default is 2 minutes)

We'll be moving that into the user interface shortly to allow easier
configuration of it. We'll also look more into why Windows doesn't always
reset its own idle timers like we tell it to do.

SageTV should still go to sleep shortly after finishing a recording. The
timeout only applies to user activity.

And you can go ahead and post it in the thread if you want.

Cheers

SageTV Support Team"

I merged a couple of replies to my questions above to make for easier reading.

Sure hope this fixes this. Good luck everyone!

I tried this and it did not help. I paused a recording and my machine went to standby within 5 minutes.

Did you enter it in both Properties files? SageTV and Client? I did and it seems to be working. If that doesn't work, send a report about it. Maybe they'll get on it faster if enough people write.

No, only in sage.properties. Will also try in Sageclient.properties and then report back.

Thanks!

I have the server and the client on the same machine.
After entering it in both sage.properties and in sageclient.properties my machine stays on longer after doing a recording, that's not what I want.
I will try the default value (120000) in sage.properties and took the long value (1800000) in sageclient.properties. Let's see if that works. I will report back.

Mine turns off two minutes after recording a show, as it has/did before the tweak. CSR confirmed with me that it should.

Bummer that it's not working that way for you. I hope the change to the prop files fixes it.

I have also not had an early-sleep since applying the tweak. Time will tell.

Seems to work ok for me now.
And there's a certain logic in it.

The server does the recording, so I configured 2 minutes. Seems to work, my machine goes to standby soon after a recording.

The client does the watching, so I configured 30 minutes. My machine seems to stay awake when pausing watching a show.

All is fine now

Oddly enough, I checked my settings and the server setting had not "taken" at 1800000 and had reverted back to 120000. Client held at 1800000.

All seems well.

Sounds like you didn't have the server shutdown when you edited the sage.properties file. (Have to make sure you stop the sagetv service before opening the .properties file for editing).

Yeah. I'm aware of that for sure. I just goofed apparently. Duh on me.

Worked out well though. It works!
