Windows 7 - will not wake with USB-UIRT
Last fall, I detailed the steps necessary to get the USB-UIRT to wake the computer out of standby when I press the Power button on the remote in this thread. That was using XP with SageTV 6.
Now I have the same computer, same remote, and same USB-UIRT, but I'm running Windows 7 in a parallel partition with SageTV 7. The USB-UIRT will not wake the computer out of sleep. I don't think it is a SageTV 7 issue since SageTV isn't technically running when the computer is sleeping. One of the problems with XP was disabling hibernation (S4) and using only sleep (S3). In my Window 7 machine, the advanced sleep properties are: Sleep after: 30 minutes Allow Hybrid Sleep: On Hibernate after: Never Allow Wake Timers: Enable My understanding is these settings will enable Sleep only, and not use hibernation, except as a "backup" in case of power failure. The USB-UIRT always has power - it is blinking its red LED while I'm pressing Power on the remote and the computer is not waking up. The LRNHELPER program has the two power codes programmed in two slots, and the "enable USB-UIRT Wake-Up" box is checked. What else should I check?

Update - I have installed the Windows MCE Standby Tool, and used it to limit the standby to S3 (sleep) only, and never use S4 (Hibernate).
Still, the system will not wake from the remote command.

Update 2
Jon, the USB-UIRT developer, provided me with a beta driver for the USB-UIRT that fixed the problem with the system not waking from the remote control under Windows 7 32-bit. The beta driver is available from his site: www.usbuirt.com/USBUIRT_Win7_Vista_v20601.zip The beta driver does not address problems with the USB-UIRT failing to "share" with other programs such as ShadeBlue's STBKeepAlive. Jon may have another solution - please contact him directly at USB-UIRT support.

Does the USB-UIRT wake the computer, too? That's the key piece I'm still missing in my 64-bit Windows 7 install.
