Sage error "-2,0x80004005): There was a problem using a SageTV component.

Something terrible has happened. I just noticed last night that neither of my tuners were working properly. I investigated my device manager and found out that the drivers for my tuner card had mysteriously reverted themselves back to 3 year old drivers. I uninstalled the drivers and put back the ones that I last had installed and working properly. Yet now when I try to tune anything Sage is throwing up errors (Sage error "-2,0x80004005): There was a problem using a SageTV component. Please re-install the SageTV application) and crashing. I have totally uninstalled Sage and started from scratch and the problem persist. Logs attached. I'm in the process of grabbing a native log now as my digital tuner is not finding any channels when it does complete a scan without crashing.

If your tuners are Hauppague make sure you ran hwclear before updating the drivers.

sabre, I'm trying that out now. Thank you.

gplasky, The tuner is an Avermedia m780.

What's strange is it just started happening. I don't know how my drivers got reverted back to 3 year old versions that I never even had installed on this PC since upgrading to Windows 7.

Well at least it's not crashing now, but the digital tuner is finding no channels.
