Well I went ahead and sent it now. One question though. The sagetv0.txt is and old file. Should it be that way or should there be a newer one? The SageMyMovies.log is as of today.

Yes i believe its called background fade. It just prevents the background from loading for a longer period, so if you are scrolling and it is a tad slower it isnt constantly trying to load backgrounds.

It should be as of today... an old one probably means you don't have sage debug logging turned on. You need to turn it on and then restart the service (the sage FAQ has instructions if you don't know how to enable it).

Same issue Error: "java.net.UnknownHostException:null"
I am having the same exact issue. I finally upgraded to sageTV 7. I installed some plugins; including this one (version 1.1.01 beta).
I didnt see server or client options when installing as shown in the walkthrough. I only had the basic install option. ) My PC hosts both sageTV media center 7 and the client I'm trying to get MyMovies to work. I dont see a "collections manager" anywhere. However, I do see the SageMyMovies API. I have no idea what's preventing the MyMovies plugin from working; but, I swear, tried following the instructions as best as I could. I'm looking forward to trying the plugin! Sincerely, Michael Quote:

Thanks! Now it makes sense. I'm guessing eventually the Collection Manager will be loaded as a dependency plugin automatically.

Hi again,
I left everything for the night and I am still not getting any posters. I also don't even have a folder called Posters in C:\ProgramData\My Movies\FileStorage so it hasn't created that folder even. I have tried to restart the service and it still isn't working. Any idea why? Thanks, Quaz |

Now that we have a sub-forum, maybe it would be easier to let this thread die down and create separate threads for individual issues/comments/ideas.
It's becoming difficult to sort through everything. . . |

Hi Plucky,
I did the search for missing fanart and it did create the Posters folder and it has 1 poster in it now. I also looked at the logs and it shows this for all my movies (over 1000) TRACE - Background Existed for:Hulk Vs Wolverine TRACE - Poster Did exist and skipped=Hulk Vs Wolverine I looked in the Backdrops directory and it shows only 146 backdrops. Also just looked again and the Posters is still at 1 Thanks, Quaz |

I have My Movies working again. Thanks for your help PluckyHD!
I took an image with Ghost and Acronis, so I can easy recover SageTV and My Movies back to a working state. The trick to avoid the misleading SQL errors and the 'blank wall' is to install the Movie Management component first, then import the video directory in Movie Management, then install the SMM UI in SageTV. About 80% of my DVDs now have artwork in the movie wall, so I will try adding artwork again. I still would like a way to make the font smaller on the List View. There is a lot of screen space on my 60 and 73 inch TVs for smaller fonts and more text to fit in the text windows on the screen. Dave |

Getting started..
Getting Mymovies up and running was easy and quick! However, when I tried to add my movies folder (which contains several hundred original quality Bluray movies in MKV format), I keep getting the error message that there's a 10 movie limit per folder for automatic folder monitoring; suggesting to move movie file into it's own folder (or something to that affect). The only movies I have that have their own folders are full disc rips (which I only have a couple of). I looked for a different way to manually scan the movies folder (without using automatic folder monitoring).. but couldnt figure how to do that. I'm sure there's a simple of way getting this to work without having to create hundreds of folders and moving each MKV into it's own folder. I'm very curious to see what My Movies looks like fully populated with all my movies and music videos.
Since I use Genre view; I have a couple of visual enhancement suggestions (pardon me if it already can be done now, but I couldnt figure out how to do it): It would be great to be able to list the Genre view horizontally as well as vertically (since more Genre's/categories can fit on the screen horizontally at once than vertically on modern displays). I tried looking under customize view; but didnt see an option to toggle vertical/horizontal. If there's no way to do it now, maybe you would consider adding this option. It would also be cool IMO if the Genre view could use Genre icons as an option; being able to use the custom ones from SageMC would be nice. Currently, the Genre view is monotone; which the genre icons may liven things up a bit. Lastly, any chance you would consider moving My Movies related files (mymovies-back.jpg, mymovies-front.jpg, mymovies.xml, etc) into a separate user-defined folder/repository? Currently, these files get mixed in together with the movie media file itself; which can make things kind of messy. Thanks for your time and effort, M
