How to enable duplicate recording?

Even DVRs for "layperson"s (Tivo, Moxi, cable/sat DVR) don't do any of what you want. Sage is far better than any of them at telling you what's going on and allowing you to control what's going on.

I'm still not entirely sure of the problem, if you've got good, unique-per-episode guide data, then the "where is the show" question is simple, it's in the recordings list and you can find it.

Otherwise you've got a guide data problem that should be relatively simple to fix.

Lenkost is not alone. I'd too would like to see a checkbox selection under favorites that reads like "[x] - Also record duplicates if detected"

This has been mentioned multiple times before and the various reasons for wanting this feature are valid for these people.

I don't think adding a feature like this is going to happen though. I've passed this by the SageTV developers years ago but nothing ever came of it.

The first two are different than the OP's concern (as I read it). They are asking to re-record a watched, episode-ID type favorite even if it's watched, presumably once the watched one has been deleted from disk. The OP seems to want duplicates recorded even if they still exist on disk.

Wouldn't having an option to re-record duplicates on favorites solve the issues listed above regardless of EPG problems or deleted status, or am I missing something?

It could, but it would cause issues too, like recording the same episode twice at the same time.
