HD200 has started requiring 2 presses of the remote to do anything

Is there a setting that I changed? I replaced the batteries on the remote, no affect. Since I have two HD200's, I grab the other remote, same issue. It started not long after downloading the newest beta firmware. But the other box does not have this problem. Its getting fairly annoying.. I have also pulled the power for 20 seconds.

Any thoughts...

The HD200 remote toggles the codes. Meaning if you press the button once it sends one code and the next key press sends a different code. Both codes need to be mapped to each command. Somehow mine got messed up awhile back and only 1 of the codes was linked for each command.

Go into detailed settings in the customize section and make sure "Use repeat detection for RC5 protocol remotes" is set to enabled. Then look under commands and go to "Show SageTV commands linked to infrared/keystrokes". Press the buttons you're having problems with to determine if both codes are mapped to the command. If not you'll need to map them.

I am thinking that downgrading the firmware to the GA version would also fix this by overwriting what I might have inadvertantly changed?

The mappings for the remote are stored on the server in the properties file for the extender so I doubt changing the firmware would make any difference.

In my case I think "Use repeat detection for RC5 protocol remotes" had somehow gotten set to Disable causing the 2nd code for each button to get nuked. When it was enabled again the codes still had to be remapped. It probably took me less than 5 minutes to remap everything.

So the quickest test is to log onto the server and rename the properties file for the affected HD200.

A new one will be created when you turn on the HD200. Does the remote work properly? If so, rename properties back to the original name and do the remapping. Or not...just keep the new properties file if you haven't done a lot of custom changes...

I found a file called SageClient.properties. I am renaming now..

Hmmm. no difference and it didn't get recreated.. that must not be the file for the HD200.. Or maybe i need to wait till primetime is over and restart the service..

The file will be in the sagetv\sagetv\clients folder and should be named by mac address - something like this 001d6a4bfade.properties.

Sage should be stopped and HD200 off while file is edited/renamed/deleted.

rc5_disable

Close SageTV and the service down and go to your SageTV folder and then to
the clients folder. Look for the properties file that has the mac address of
your HD200 and look for this line:

rc5_disable

Change it to either true or false and save it.

Select Twice to Change..

I have 4 hd200s in use. On one of them I have to push direction arrows (on remote) or ok twice to get commands to function. Do I need to hard reset hd200..I am using latest beta on all 4 extenders...
