HD200 Wireless N not being negotiated
I installed the Encore ENUWI-N adapter on my HD200 and it detected it fine. I have a Dlink DIR-655 router configured to support Wireless N and G using WPA and WPA2. My SSID is not broadcasted so I have to enter it into the Network set up with the HD200. The HD200 connects fine (Shows WPA at connection) however when I log into my DIR-655 router and look at the currently connected wireless clients it shows my HD200 but it shows it connected 802.11G and not N. I have tried to hard power cycle the HD200 and I still get the same results.
My question is does the HD200 support wireless N using the Encore ENUWI-N? If so is there anyone else using the Dlink Dir-655 with firmware version 1.33 that's able to connect using 802.11N? Anyone's help is appreciated. Gerry

This is an article that might explain some of your woes with wireless connectivity. http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wirel...ding-to-80211n
The information I got from this article is this: 1. The only channels to use while using 2.4Ghz band are channels 1, 6, and 11 since they do not have any overlap. 2. When using Wireless G and N on the same frequency, Wireless N will slow down to G speeds. The article explains this better. 3. Use WPA2-AES only to get the best wireless performance. 4. Have separate Wireless Radios/Devices for Wireless N and G clients. This will fix #2. The D-Link DIR-655 is a very capable router. I read the review on it, and my dad uses that router as well, meaning that I had to set it up, and I was impressed. A possible solution for you would be to bring out your old Wireless G router and configure it to be an Access Point and connect all of your Wireless G clients to it, and all of the Wireless N clients to the DIR-655. Here is an article on how to convert an old router to an Wireless Access Point. http://news.smallnetbuilder.com/wire...n-access-point I recently just upgrade to Wireless N and bought a Netgear WNDR3700, which has both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz capability as well as 2 radios, one for each frequency. I have 2.4Ghz setup for my wireless G clients (2 laptops, Wireless Bridge, and my cell phone), and have 5Ghz setup for only wireless N clients (DWA-160 for HD200, and coming today my DAP-1522 (Wireless Bridge) for my entertainment center). I can say that when the DWA-160 was connected to my laptop I was getting 270Mbps or higher for speeds. I also have not noticed any glitching on my HD200 with the DWA-160. I know this seems like a lot and it probably is, but this will help your wireless woes when all is said and done. Protoman
