Problems with tuner priority

Ok I have 4 tuners. 2 via the HDHomerun, 1 HD-PVR and 1 PVR-150

It seems that SageTV is doing the wrong priority when choosing them for live tv.

If I try to tune into a station that is available to all 4 tuners it seems to always use the PVR-150 first which is the LAST one I would want. If I then force the PVR-150 to record a show to prevent it from being used for live tv the next tuner in line is the HD-PVR. I would rather the HDHomerun be used since it tunes faster.

However this does not seem to be the issue for scheduled recordings. It is almost like a reverse priority is being used for live tv. NOTE: I made sure no upcoming recordings would conflict during my above test.

Have you actually set the encoder_merit on those tuners to tell Sage which ones to prefer? If so, how do you have them set?

No I have not, I left them to the default. Under v6 I did not have this issue. I thought SageTV preferred digital tuners over analog if the merits where the same, which for mine they would be since they are the default.

I am having a similar issue. Tonight, when SNL was on, 3 of my 4 tuners were busy. The tuner free was one of the tuners on the HVR-2250. Though the free tuner can access a clear QAM NBC SageTV chose to use the analog station and recorded SNL on the analog NBC.

This has never occurred before and SNL was marked in the guide as being HD. I have also noticed that another show is appearing twice in the scheduled recordings for the same time slot (one version on the HD channel the other on the SD channel).

To fix this issue I am setting the favorites to only record on the HD channels but this has never occurred before and I would like to figure out why Sage is getting confused.
