I made some tweaks to the UI now I need help making it a plugin

I made some layout and font tweaks to the .09 beta's main menu. How do I make it into a plugin that I can now apply to the .10 beta's main menu? I think there may be a post explaining how to do it for vs 6. I'm looking for that now.

Posts found and I've moved forward with an attempt to make an stvi I can then import into .10.

What I tried so far was to generate a stvi using the "STV UID file difference". In the window that opens, there seems to be a lot of things that I did not change. I made sure I did all my editing without any STVIs imported. If I save the .stvi from that ouput and import it in the Sage UI all my changes look to take place which is great. But when I open up studio to see the result, there are lots of random orphaned widgets at the bottom of the code that are not in the original file, nor in the one I edited.

EDIT
Hmmmm now I see all those random orphaned items in my edited file. I must have done something weird when editing. I guess time to go back and reo it all.

What did you compare against? You should have used the V7.0.9 STV you started from. If you didn't save a copy of that before overwriting it with V7.0.10, then the comparison will get confused and show you everything you changed as well as the reverse of everything that changed between 7.0.9 and 7.0.10.

So always make sure you're comparing against the exact STV you started from. Keep a copy of that original STV in a safe place where it won't be overwritten by upgrades. Also, don't wait until the end to make an STVI. Do the UID difference and save the result in STVI form after each editing session. That way you always have both the original STV plus an STVI containing just your changes, which is ultimately what you want.

I was using the 7.0.9 STV. I hadn't yet upgraded to beta .10. I was just getting ready. In the end I just made notes for my changes. I upgraded then edited the 7.0.10 STV and made an .stvi. It worked perfectly this time. Now I need to read up on how to make it a plugin and how to give it a user defined option. Thanks for the tips. All good advice.

When you delete code in Studio, you have to select everything you want deleted, not just the topmost widget where it's attached. Otherwise you leave a lot of detached (but not deleted) widgets floating around.

I didn't intentionally delete anything. But after thinking about it for a while, I did have a moment where I dragged widgets around (wireless mouse got stuck in click and drag mode), but I thought I moved outside of studio to cancel the action.
