Listing of Plugins...

Just a suggestion...

Now that some of the plugins tabs are getting nicely populated, would it be possible to do the following: When you reach the bottom of the listing of plugins, the next down arrow press takes you back to the first one? This happens in many other menu options but not in the plugins. With the listing getting long (and will only get longer!) it is going to be cumbersome to scroll all the way to the bottom then have to scroll all the way back up... would be nice to be able to just click down once more and be on the first one

Not sure if this is something that can be done or not but please consider it. Thanks!

Since the plugins are integrated into the SageTV it would be nice to have web listing and description page of each plugin as well as a change log.

If the list is driven by xml it shouldn't be that hard to create a listing/link page.

Not quite sure what you're asking for here. Plugin devs already have the ability to include web links, descriptions, and release notes with their plugin submissions. All that stuff appears on the detail screen for each plugin (although you can't actually open the web pages on an extender; you need a PC client for that).

Or are you saying you want this info to appear on a website somewhere outside the SageTV UI? There's already a rudimentary web-based plugin list here, although it doesn't show all the details.

Well that is basically what I was talking about but with a lot more detail. Its just nice to know what is available, when it's updated, bugs, etc. All this outside of the standard TV interface. I don't think us not having something like that is a show stopper but it is certainly a nice to have.

Like my previous post said. I would think it would be fairly trivial to write something that pulls that type of data into a presentable fashion if the listing is based off of XML.

Hmm, thanks for the link - that is good to know. And I agree, it would be very useful to have the full details on a website as a nice no-maintenance resource.
