Sage7 takes 15 minutes to startup
When I start Sage7 it gets stuck at Object Database is Initializing... 42% done and stays that way for about 15 minutes until it starts. Another strange thing is that I don't get the proper Sage TV icon in the taskbar - I get the default Windows logo that you get when you have a broken link.

Anything in your log file that might say what is going wrong?

"You definitely want to keep your Wiz.bin. To speed up startup enable this in your Sage.properties file: limited_carny_init=true Only downside is it'll take some time before intelligent recording can kick in; but it'll still do all of your Favorite's recordings properly during that time period. " |

80 MB Wiz.bin????
Mine has been consistently below 20 MB since I started using SageTV 3 years ago. What makes it that large, lots of DVD rips?

How long did it take to start up before version 7?
I have 9 TB of RAID 1 disk pairs. My wiz.bin file is just under 32 megs. It takes under 1 minute to start up. Dave |

I am just checking it out now and the first entry in my log file (C:\Users\wayne\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\sagetv_0.txt - assuming that is the correct log file) is from 3 pm this afternoon and I restarted Sage last night about 10:30 pm just before I posted. I will try another restart and see what I get.
By the way - my wiz.bin file is 13.6MB.

I found the problem in the log file. It appears that Sage does not like Carlos Santana! I found dozens of entries like this in my log file and they all took more than a second to process for each song.
Code:

So is there something weird about those audio files - anything out of the norm? If not I'd submit a ticket just to see if the SageTV team can figure it out. |

I haven't had a chance to check that out yet. They were ok at one time but maybe they somehow got corrupted.
