.MTS files not playing on HD200 Extenders

I recently got a new Panasonic camera that can record 720p video in .MTS files. For some reason the HD200 cannot play these files. I try and I get a black screen for a few seconds and then it will give up and go back to the menu.

This is the file format pulled from the webserver.

Episode: 00009
Aired: May 8, 2010 1:10 PM - 1:10 PM
Duration: 0 m
HDTV
Show ID: MF6840464
File Format: MPEG2-TS[H.264 720p, AC3/24Kbps@48kHz Stereo]
Files:
C:\Storage\Pictures\2010\May\00009.MTS
File Playlists: [wvx] [m3u] [pls]
Size: 79.55MB

Strangely enough the MediaMVP can play them after the server transcodes it on the fly.

Anybody know if the HD200s should support this format.

Thanks

try renaming the file with a .m2ts or .ts extension.... Does it work then?

I have a Panasonic ZS3, and I have had no problems playing back the videos via the HD-200. I am running the HD-200 as an extender, though, and not in stand alone mode. I just put my video file into my import directories, and after a media refresh, it shows up in my library.

I am not sure how you are accessing the video file... you mentioned a "webserver," which I don't have in my configuration (I just have a SageTV server and the extender). Can you try loading it from the import directory? The other thing that is a little suspect is that the "webserver" is reporting a movie that is 0 minutes. Is that right, do you have a short test video?

It didn't matter for me how I pulled the movie off of my camera. I was able to use the software that came with the camera (which I think makes an .M2TS file), and I was able to just use Windows Explorer and pull it directly from the SDHC card as a .MTS file. It didn't matter for me if the file had a .MTS or .M2TS file extension, they both played fine.

This is a DMC-ZS7. I should have mentioned that I am running it as a extender. Sage is even able to show the thumbnail but no dice actually playing the video. If I get a chance later maybe I'll post a link to one of the files if somebody else wants to try it.
