Sydney TVS (New Digital Channel not found)

Hi everyone.

On day two of the 21 day trial

Sadly WinTV was all I needed function wise .. but has always continually been a problem for myself and I'm over log files needing to be posted to the forum and constantly asking for help on the Hauppauge forum etc with no result .. sadly WinTV is that flaky that I can rarely have it open without Windows throwing up the message "This program has stopped responding etc etc" before it gets past the splash image... so I rarely see the program load .. which means I can make no changes or scan for new channels or even turn on the create log file from within the WinTV UI...This has gone on this way for one whole yr (was a birthday present last year and it's my birthday right now)

All I really need is something to make timed recordings for me to access later... so far SageTV seems to be able to do this.. though I've had SageTV end early and ignore my setting to start recording early and to continue later.

The problems I mention above with WinTV existed within XP pro X86 (32bit) Vista Ultimate both 32 and 64 bit versions and now within Windows 7 64bit .. even after yesterday loading an image of Win7 64bit made 11/11/09 (I cannot remember if WinTV was working then, though it had worked on and of since, though only briefly when it had worked) .. so it's time to look elsewhere for a suitable program. (SageTV so far looking as though it's the only worthy candidate)

One major concern for me is that I have been unable to tune in a new channel with SageTV .. (TVS channel 44 Digital is the Channel) .. my attempt to have WinTV do this recently and fail, AS OFTEN IS THE CASE, ..... after hours of updating this and clearing that then downloading newer GPU drivers and so on I decided to search for an alternative...

So SageTV is not finding a channel (it's the strongest signal where I live and STU's here find it immediately) is this a driver problem? with my Hauppauge HVR2200? or does there need to be an update to SageTV or some other tweak to tune this channel in? .. sadly because WinTV is so miserable I cannot check to see if it can find it... from a stu here the info on the channel is

Channel TVS
Scan Band UHF/7MHz
Transponder 536500/8K/QPSK
PID V 100 A 101 P 100

The Signal Intensity is 74%
and Signal quality 97% .. this is similar signal qualities on the other STU here ... though the signal is split 3 ways the signal strength is very good here and all channels found on the PVR card showed good strength when I checked it when WinTV was installed (WinTV has it's own signal strength program)

Also I have had some recordings made by SageTV end early.. and also it often ignores my settings requiring recording times to start early and end later.

As Well ...Is there a way to adjust the early or later recording setting to 5 minute intervals per click? instead of 15

SageTV has at least displayed live TV where WinTV could not.. Though the Hauppauge timed recordings were extremely reliable I have lost the ability to do that as after all the upgrading etc the other day for some reason the option has not re-installed.

Help appreciated.

I have TVS tuned in now, uninstalled (Again) SageTv then Deleted remaining folders in "Program Files (X86)" re-installed SageTV after Reboot and that problem has been overcome.

I have been testing SageTV, I will search the forums once I get some bandwidth back from 3 downloads for program updates I need ... First test record today using the program guide and recording from ABC1 Sydney yielded a file with no playable audio in either VLC or Media player, de-muxed the file with ProjectX and the Audio file created was .mp1 and small as well as unplayable (not mp2 as it should have been) and TMPGenc fell over and stopped responding for a long time and finally threw up the message "Illegal MPG Audio stream"
