No sound on several Sydney channels..
Hi all...
Using 2 x Hauppauge Nova-T500 MCe tuners with Sage 6.4.6 Beta in client\server configuration . Server running on WHS with PP1 Client running on **FRESH CLEAN INSTALL** Vista32 SP1 For some reason, i only get sound on : 7 HD 9 SD 9 HD 10 SD 10 HD ABC HD ABC 1 These channels have no sound : ABC 2 7 SD SBS SBS News SBS HD I am using AC3Filter as my mpeg2 audio decoder and using default windows audio renderer. I am outputting sound via optical SPIDF and all sound in windows works 100%. Problem is only with Sage. *****ALL channels work 100% with Media Portal ( which i want to ditch ) using same config ( AC3 & Default renderer ) ***** Can any one shed some light on this ?? Thanks you |

Do you get sound on the SageTV recordings using another player (VLC, DVD player, MediaPortal)?
Do you have sound when you select the SageTV as the MPEG2 Audio Decoder? I'm assuming the issue isn't with SageTV, but with the AC3 settings. Does the AC3Filter icon appear in the System Tray (next to the clock) with both MediaPortal and SageTV Client when playing a video? (AC3 > SYSTEM Tab > Interface Options > Show Tray Icon) In the AC3 Properties, check the settings... (SPDIF tab) pass-through settings? (SPDIF tab) SPDIF Options? (SYSTEM tab) use AC3Filter For... settings |

Sage definitely produces some MPEG files with MPEG audio which is only playable through AC3Filter configured this way. I tried to play these files out side of Sage, and no players (VLM, MPC, PowerDVD, and Window Meida Player) can play them with audio. As a matter of fact, I have submitted a bug report and ftp them one sample MEPG file for Sage support to work on it. Also attached is my frequency file (for Sydney), compare it to yours to see if it helps!

Thanks for the help guys...
I have given up on trying to use AC3Filter. Instead, i am now using this : Microsoft MPEG-1/DD Audio Decoder Now all my channels work 100%, and in DD... I have no idea why AC3Filter won't work for me in Sage... i don't have the time or skill to debug. cheers |
