Me too. I found this to work very well once I got used to it.

I'm going to voice my opinion here in that I *LOVE* the new GUI! It was immediately evident that the right arrow indicated more options because many many other products and applications use the same methodology. It would be nice if we could easily change the background images for the various menu items however. Some of the default images are ok, some I'm not crazy about.

Menu response time is superb!! I can't believe how quick I can scroll through the various elements compared to the old GUI, and especially SageMC which is a dog in comparison!

While there are still a few things I would like to see added to SageTV (iPhone placeshifter suport), I am VERY impressed with the new update and I will be more than happy to throw $40 at Sage for the upgrade, without any hesitation!

I agree that having a configurable default action would be nice... For now the default is whatever view you went to last... which works most of the time

whip up a theme which should be pretty easy (drop pictures that are titled correctly into a sub folder under themes)... The serenity theme pretty much only changed the background images so you can look at that for an example...

is there a way to change how many rows of TV shows are displayed on the recordings screen? Like you can do on the movie/videos screen?

I'd like to reduce the number of shows showed so I can make the font/highlighted item larger

I've been using thumbnail view for abt 2 years now with SageTV and this was an issue for me as well.

HOWEVER, I decided to change from thumbnail view to the default (don't remember the wording used) and it's so much better than it was in V6 that I think I'll no longer use thumbnail view. I still group by title, but in the default view the "thumbnail" shot is much larger and to the right and I've come to really like this view.

This is not about the video library. It's about movies in the tv guide. It allows you to easily select all upcoming movies and filter/sort them e.g. by date, rating, sub categories. It's a great feature for recording movies, which seems to be missing in the stock stv.

I'm lost Rico.. are you saying we can do that in V7?
How do I search or sort the guide based on Show type, such as Movies, or name etc?

No, I was asking whether this is possible or not in the new default UI. Coming from SageMC (and Windows Media Center) that's something that I don't want to miss. So I was asking whether a movie specific browsing UI (for the purpose of scheduling) exists.

Just my 2 cents...
I have to eat crow on this. I should have reserved my judgment until I had actually *used* the new UI

I really, really, like the navigation and found it very intuitive. The stuff I do most takes the least amount of clicks. And the right arrow icon makes it clear that I can push right to see more menus. My only suggestion would be to make the default "enter" action "sticky" and configurable. That is, I want clicking on TV to always open the "All Recordings" view (or whatever view I decide) - I don't want clicking on TV to open the "Recorded Movies" view just because that's the last view I happened to use under TV.

Otherwise, I think the new menu system is divine.
