Malore menus & other hidden extras

Anyone up to the task of redoing the malore menues for v7? I don't have the skills and I hate the way that the default stv lists recorded programs.

Oh no! I was planning to upgrade tonight but if there aren't any malore menus, I might have to reconsider since that's what my wife is used to.

V 7 Malore recordings style

I'm hoping that one of the SageTV folks can answer this for me. I know that the Malore view is not officially supported, but will this view at least get the new skin? Alternatively, if the default view in recordings had the ability to show or sort by episode number I wouldn't need/want the Malore view.

I also would love new UI style Malore menus but not the ones where the top half of the screen is taken up with information about the program. The SageMC malore menu plugin version uses more screen real estate for the program and episode list and seems more efficient to me.

+100 for Malore Menu's...they simply are better!

Drive space remaining now gone from header?

Hey Guys!

In V6 I had the custom feature to show how much recording space was available as well as how many shows and the space they were going to take up for the next 48 hours.

I see these options in V7 and I have it all turned on but the only time I see it is when I switch to the old blue style UI. Am I doing something wrong or is this menu bar not able to be there with the new UI? I really liked having that info always up there in the header and hope I'm just missing something!

Thanks!

I just ported the Phoenix Fanart to the Malore Menus so they certainly are there. Enable them the same way as before.

I plan on porting my other Malore based STVi's as well. If you have a preference as to which please let me know. I'm fairly sure I'll do "Select and Batch Delete" next, because I use it all of the time.

Malore Menus

I've heard a lot of talk about the Malore menus. From what I understand, they just a two pane list view? What are the benefits of using them and what do they look like? Could someone post some screenshots of them please?

Thank,

Tony

The Malore Menus are already incorporated into both v6 & v7 of SageTV. See this post to get SageTV setup to view them.
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12520

The only issue with the v7 Malore Menus it that they retain the v6 background/layout - but still usable.

They are also my biggest stumbling block for WAF. The new recordings screen doesn't offer the same information and so we're back to square one (fanart-less).

It seems kind of silly that as popular as the malore menus are, that they weren't updated, or the new menus not based off of them.

It has already been said that the malore menus will be updated when Opus gets time.

This may be answered somewhere else but haven't found it. Is there a way to customize the screens like we were able to do with sagemc? The usual 'wife doesn't like change' comes into play with the new layout. I just installed last night and she has yet to see it so was hoping there was some way to make it more like the way i had it setup. Some things that I did was to add the guide right on main screen as well as recordings. This way all she would have to do is one click to get to those screens.

The v6 default version of Malore Menu has an option to modify the size of the top half information screen built in - as you select the option to increase the number of listed rows, the info screen is reduced. It also allows you to remove the 'other view' bars on top. So you should be happy with the default version as long as this functionality is ported over.

Cool Malore Feature

The one feature my wife uses most and can't live without is where you can hit the number keys and go directly to that alpha title equivalent - example - go to movies and press 3 will get you to "D's" press 8 will get you to "T's". With about 900 movies it is a real time saver versus scrolling through or searching on an individual title.

OK, OK, OK - I'm not a noob, but apparently I haven't seen all that Sage has to offer...

What exactly are "Malore Menus"? Can someone post a few pics of what they look like?

Go to the "System Information" menu and press "5309" without the quotes. Then view your recordings and you'll see. To revert back to the default go back to the System Information menu and press 5309 again.
