HD100 and v7

Will 7 work on the HD100? I know there's a new beta firmware for the HD200, does the HD100 need it as well or will it work right away?

you must be running the latest beta firmware for the hd100 otherwise it will be SLLOOOOOWWWW navigation and sometimes you will see corrupted fonts.

By "corrupted fonts" are we talking about the adjacent letters overlapping? Because I'm seeing that on my hd100

Yup, I had the overlapping fonts before upgrading to the latest beta firmware. Now everything is working fine.

is the beta firmware able to connect to both v6 and v7? I'm not ready to commit to an upgrade to v7 yet, but I have it running on another box.

The firmware on the HD100 or HD200 will connect to either Sagr6 or Sage7.

Thanks, I am more than a bit hesitant to upgrade my lone hd100!

I really don't like to do firmware updates to anything, unless there's a specific problem I'm having. And, the week before my wife expects to watch American Idol's last episode is not the time for upgrade problems!

I have been running the latest beta HD100 firmware since its release with V6, with no issues. After the V7 upgrade, it has still been good. The performance of V7 on the HD100 seems amazing to me...very fast. Was not expecting that. YMMV.

I was also hesitant as one of the last betas had slowed my HD100 to a crawl and I had to do a factory rollback. I had the crammed menu fonts issue with Sage 7 here so held my breath and updated to the beta......let me tell you, what a difference, my HD100 hasnt been this fast EVER, real nice work Sage.

WOW!!! I updated the firmware last night, and the hd100 is fast! It's probably just a placebo, but v6 is faster too.

Thanks everyone for the help.

When ever I have a show playing and pull up the guide (with the show continuing to run in the preview window) I get blocky text. If I stop the playback, then the text clears up and appears normal. This is using the latest HD-100 beta firmware.

I can pull up "info" and that text appears normal. It seems to be the guide text only.

I wanted to see if anyone else is seeing is....

Thanks!

I saw strange behavior just after upgrading to V7 upon the first time I connected my HD100 to the server. After rebooting the extender, it has worked flawlessly.

For me the navigation in the guide screen was way too slow on the HD100. I ended up just turning off animations.

So you don't have to dig it up:

Use the remote's number pad to enter the code 2382 ('beta') on the HD100's firmware update menu in order to tell it to look for the beta version. For help about how to update the firmware, see the HD100's manual or the FAQ.
