Chipmunk Speed Audio and Video

This is not a sage problem ... this is a windows / PC problem but wondering if anyone can help-

I was having problems with my machine so I decided to upgrade the firmware ... Well when I did that I also updated all the motherboard drivers related to my system (chipset, built-in audio, built in hdmi video)

So... After doing this I don't have any sound anymore... I go into settings and see HDMI audio ... Change my setting to that and Viola! the chipmunks have invaded my system (audio AND video are playing at 2x speed)

I've tried rolling back drivers to the originals, I've tried disabling acceleration on the sound drivers. I've looked in the BIOS and there are no settings for the built in sound.

b4 the updates I didn't have HDMI audio ... I had Realtek HD Audio. Which i still "have" - it just doesn't work (at all). The ATI HDMI is what 'works' right now.

Any ideas?

Uninstall the HDMI Audio driver from the ATI uninstaller and then uninstall and reinstall your Realtek drivers.
