Halt in Recording - Afterward Tuner Unusable
My SageTV setup has been rock solid for almost a year. However in last week, I have had 2 instances where shows did not record due to a "Halt in Recording" (I use HDHRs for all my recording).
I verified that the channels Sage reported as halting can still be viewed in HDHomeRun setup (so the channel did not move). Other recordings on other tuners for the same channel after the halted one are recorded properly. Even stranger, once I get that halt in recording, that tuner cannot tune to any channel at all. Even trying to view Live TV on that tuner just gives a black screen. I have found that once I have a "halted dead tuner", if I go into Video Source setup and rescan that tuner (no changes to the channel that halted), this seems to reset the tuner and it starts working to view LiveTV and record again. Both instances of "halted dead tuner" have been on the same HDHR unit. The 1st time it affected both tuners, this last time it only affected 1 of the 2 tuners. When I initially added the 2nd HDHR, I setup custom PAR files with a 1250ms delay in them. I opened a support ticket, but I was just curious if anyone seen anything like this before ???? I control 4 different (3 locations) HDHRs, and all have been rock solid. I don't think I've ever even had a "Halt in Recording" on any of them. I'd get on the Silicondust site, and see if they can help.

Since the SiliconDust Setup app run from the Sage box can view the channels fine (when SageTV just tunes a blank screen), it wouldn't appear that the HDHR is the problem ???

I would delete the "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner xxxxxxxxx-0-0-QAM.frq" files then run a full rescan in Sagetv on all the HdHomeruns. I once had this problem and somehow the frq file got corrupted.

Maybe a bad power supply/brick? SD had a rash of them a while ago.

I have two Dvico tuners and an Hauppaugg tuner. The Hauppaugg suffers from halts. IU just eliminate the channel that it halts on from it's lineup. I hope I don't end up eliminating all channels.
