Clearing DVDs not watched

Hey everyone-

I'm looking for an easy way to clear out space on my Sage server. Is there some way to determine when the last time a DVD or TV show was viewed? As an example, I won't to delete content that hasn't been watched since 2007.

thanks,
Mike

Windows keeps track of when files and folders were last accessed. Open the folder in Windows and View -> Details. Right click on the heading bar where it says Name, Size, Type, etc. From the drop-down list that appears, select More...

In that window, you can select to show the "Date Accessed". Sort by that column to determine which DVDs to delete.

* These instructions apply to Windows XP. The process for Vista or Win 7 will likely be a bit different.

Thanks. I gave that a try but mysteriously all parent folders say last accessed back in 2008. This is also be a very manual process unless I could export it to excel. I have hundreds of movies/recordings. Can you think of any way to query many folders/drives and export?

You might try Karen's Directory Printer. This program will create a text file that you can open in Excel. You can then sort the list by the 'date accessed' attribute on the individual files instead of the parent folders.
