EDIT - looks like the beta is closed already. Site says they got 1000 responses for 50 spots! Hopefully the 50 will be great testers!
Click the "Register Now" button. At first I thought it was their normal forum registration, but it asks specific questions about your cable provider and current cable card systems. So it clearly is a sign up for the beta program. I don't have cable cards, so I did not complete the form - I cannot tell you what happens after submitting it.

Does this mean anything as far as Sage is concerned? I thought that cable card support + Sage was a far flung reality...

I understand Andy (babgvant)'s plugin gives hope for SageTV users who might want to use cablecard devices but wonder if Silicondust might focus on other (e.g. MCE) PVR software that can work "out of the box" esp since they need to select only 50 or so testers out of 1000. Will be interesting to see how many SageTV users get selected (keeping fingers crossed). -Topper

I'm guessing the only real candidates to be selected would be people who run SageTV and 7MC, as opposed to SageTV only.

I think anyone on this forum that gets chosen as a beta tester will be more than willing to use a windows 7 box as a test unit. Then that person will be able to test the plugin mentioned above to see if we will be able to use cablecards with SageTV...
Assuming anyone on this forum is picked to be a beta tester...

We are focusing the beta on WMC/Windows 7 because it is the only certified platform now, and the one we are targeting for launch. Future support for SageTV obviously depends on what happens regarding software certification requirements, so it will be something to look at once the FCC and CableLabs work things out on that end.
