HD-PVR - Can you RMA a box over a year old

this is somewhat related to my other question about fixing HD-PVR issue. I always had at least intermittent issues so was thinking I would try and RMA it. I have one of the original HD-PVRs(first or second week)

Will I be able to RMA it or will they tell me warrenty expired?

I recently had some issues with my two REV C2 HDPVRs that at first I thought was the HDPVRs themselves. (later found it was a driver/Sage configuration issue) So I email Hauppauge tech support and even after telling them they were out of warranty they seemed willing to RMA them.

The only thing we can suggest is seeing if you can replicate the problem in the accompanying Total Media Extreme app. Otherwise we’ll have to issue you an RMA to send the units in for testing and replacement since you said at one point, they were working."

Although Hauppauge drives me crazy by refusing to acknowledge and take on the lock-up problem head-on, they seem to be really good at okaying RMAs.

I'd email them and tell them you are getting a lot of lock-ups and would like to RMA the unit. My guess is they'll say no problem.
