Segregation of CPU Cores for Sage and Comskip

I am new to the dual/quad core world. I know when I run comskip I can tell it to only run on one thread or maybe one core but how does sage work?

Will it use more then one thread or core?

If so, do I need to worry about those two programs going after the same core? I have never seen anything to tell it to always use core 2 for comskip and 1 for sage.

The processor does a very good job of metering out the cores where they can best be used. I'm pretty sure there is no way of telling a program to only use one core (without rewriting the program). The short answer is 'don't worry about it'- you'll have plenty of processing power to spare while running sage and ComSkip.

there ARE ways to locak a program to an individual core (Thread Affinity), but it's not of much use. Your much better off letting sage run as is, and setting COMskip to run in Low priority mode, which will basically give sage all the CPU it asks for, and let comskip use the leftovers.
