HD-PVR on USB 3.0 Controller

Has anyone used a Hauppauge HD-PVR (or multiple) on a built in or PCIe add-on USB 3.0 controller?

Did using the USB 3.0 controller solve any of your HD-PVR stability woes?

Any other issues?

I thought I read that there was a "slight" increase in performance using an older USB 2.0 device on the newer 3.0 controllers over the older USB 2.0 controllers.

Thanks for any input,

Jeremy

I am running two HD-PVR's on a USB 3.0 controller.

They run as USB 2.0 devices because USB 3.0 has different cables.

It did solve my problem which was cause by the onboard ICH10R (or ICH9R)controller, where when the HD-PVR would hang, the CPU would go to 100% and the whole computer would become unresponsive.

I was installing Eric3a's "automatic HD-PVR recycling scripts" which use Sage's error messages. At first I never got any error messages because the computer was locking up with 100% CPU. But after switching to the USB 3.0 card, the error messages worked properly, with normal CPU usage.

Thanks JerryT.

That was the end result I was looking for.

I seriously doubt a "USB 3.0" controller will solve anything a good USB 2.0 controller wouldn't.
