Wow, you can't beat that for an external hardware based tuner.

Talking WinTV-PVR USB2 - Pretty good deal

For anyone that is doing some shopping for the above WinTV USB, Compusa has then on sale right now for about $120 plus a $20 mail in rebate. This is a very nice deal in my opinion. I took a print out of this down to Fry's and the price matched down to the $120 and they have a $30 dollar rebate on it that is good until 8/19/2004. That brings this deal in at about $90 bucks. Oh, I was able to find an open box and they gave me another $8 off.

I did this at the new Fry's in Downers Grove, IL store and it was the last one they had.

I have finally got my old Creative Labs card upgraded!

Good luck!

It doesn't seem to take long for either PVR-250's or USB2's to get sold out no matter where you go.

Could it be because those 2 devices are the ONLY ones that actually do reliably work with SageTV?

For those who missed this deal, buy.com has the WinTV-PVR-usb2 for $138. Not quite the same price, but it is close (and better than the $200 retail). Of course, it is backordered. sigh

Just don't forget to enter your zip code on the CompUSA product page (listed above) & check local inventory... there are still a couple stores listed near me that (supposedly) still have it in stock.

I'm up to 7 as well. Although I think one of my USB2s may be dying.
