Touch screen And Tv Series
Hi
I am a newbie with Sagetv, and would love to use it with 100% touch screen for my music and all my movies and bought tv series that i have. I am not using a seperate server and evything is loaded onto my touch screen tablet. My 2 questions are: 1.) Is it possible to use the software for 100% touch screen...so far everything seems like it can be done from a touch screen except when i am in the "now playing" screen there is no back or home button like there is on all the other screens. Is there anyway of including one myself or an alternate method ? Also please tell me are there any other functions that are not touch compatible? 2.) My tv series folder is set up as such "Tv Series\Smallville\Season\Episode; Tv Series\One Tree Hill\Season\Episode" ect. Please could someone tell me how to setup sage tv, so that my series is different from my videos. Right now the only way i am doing it is importing it the same way i do my videos. But then it opens them all up and mixes them with my movies if i am in "Title" view. Ideally " Title" view is the view i would like to use, but would like to have an individual tv series icon. Please tell me how everyone else sets up there bought and not recorded tv series, or box sets ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Is touching the screen like using Enter or like a mouse click? If the same as Enter, then during playback, Enter brings up playback info; Enter again opens the Options dialog where you can use Stop, jump to another menu, etc.
To view the imported video folder hierarchy, use the Folder view. - Andy

You might want to check out the SageTV/SageMC touchscreen interface add-on - discussed in this blog post at GeekTonic

I can attest to the touchscreen add-on working quite well. It's my touchscreen in the video Brent has on his blog.
Mike did a great job on the add-on. |

I'm curious: does the touchscreen have a way to simulate a right mouse click or just a left click? A right click is used as the Options command.

Most do. The ELO that I have has an option in their driver software to cause a right-click when you hold your finger in one place. So a tap is left click and a hold is right. It works well.

Then I'll change my above answer & just recommend using a right click during playback.

Thank u guys for your response.
Is there no way of adding the same back button onto the now playing screen that is in the top left hand corner of every other screen, as i find using the default Sagetv interface is smoother than the sage mc interface ? Also is there no way of having a dedcated menu button for my tv series instead of mixing it with the movies. I just think the folder view i ugly compared to title view ![]() Once again thanks for your response. |

You could try looking at TVE (TVExplorer). there is a port of it for the Default STV.
Another option is to use BMT to bring those imported tv shows into the SageTV Recordings database. This would let you view them in a more 'tv-centric' view.
