BAD bug? Automatically deleting with no reason? .15

Hello...

I seem to have encountered a really quite aweful bug in v.15...

I had set "30 Minute Meals" as a favorite for my wife, selecting 1.5GB quality, keeping 6, on any channel (it's only on FOOD, though).

There were 6 in the folder, but when looking at the details and exiting out, they suddenly had disappeared and, on checking, were deleted from the drive.

There was approximately 80GB of free space on the drive, so that shouldn't have been a problem, plus there were no current recordings occurring.

Possibly related (and oddly), when I clicked "right arrow" to look at the details of the programs that automatically deleted, there was no delete option. I actually wanted to delete the one I was looking at, which is why I noticed. I was confused by the absence of delete, pressed "left arrow" and 4 of the 6 were suddenly deleted.

Conversely, the 2 "Friends" recordings in the folders were there and I was able to individually select and delete them.

I suspect it may have had to do with having 6 and/or limiting the number to 6, as those were the only noticable differences between the "Friends" and "30 Minute Meals" recordings.

My wife isn't too thrilled about this one...

Thoughts?

Also, is this the appropriate place to log bugs?

Thanks!

dan.

Did you look in the log file? Each entry is time stamped, so you should be able to tell what happened (it really isn't that hard to read).

Submitting bugs against the beta should be done here. Keep the log file since they will need it to see what happened.

Look in the log for signs that you might have removed that show as a Favorite. If that happened Sage would delete them instantly.

Just to clarify: that would happen only if Intelligent Recording was disabled.

I am pretty sure I didn't delete this as a favorite, since the remaining two episodes let me edit the favorite settings, which I did. I didn't check the favorites list (I can tonight), but I assume I couldn't change the favorites settings if they weren't favorites. Also, if it would've deleted all of the content, it shouldn't have left 2 of the 6, I assume.

thanks!

dan.

One more idea -- did the EPG change? Were those shows correct recordings? If the EPG data updates & shows those time slots as some other show, I believe SageTV automatically recognizes them as Recording Errors and dumps them.

Interesting idea. I doubt the EPG changed, but I can't know until it happens again, since we hadn't watched the deleted shows yet. I'll check the log tonight for clues...

You can scroll backwards in the LiveTV guide & look at the times when those shows were recorded, if you remember the times, & see if some other show is listed there now.

Edit: I see the forum has slightly changed its appearance again...
