Pulling in Analog and QAM channels

Hey everyone...

For the longest time I was unable to have my Hauppauge 1600
pull in the QAM channels from the cable co.

A driver update solved that issue.

I have been running my sagetv with just the 1 analog tuner and the cable box. I now have the digital tuner working.

I Ran thru the wintv configuration utility.
It found a lot of qam channels on the digital tuner.
It lists the channel numbers like 2008, 2009, etc.

I went in to add the digital source in the sage setup but I could not
make the channel numbers match up. How do I do that?

Eg Channel 4 on the channel guide should match up with 2574 on the
digital tuner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've still been working with this....

The Hauppauge 1600 card pulls in the Cable co's qam channels
on channels 2008-2795.

When I add the digital tuner as a new source, sagetv tries to scan for
channels and does not find anything.

I don't think these are on any program guide its going to download.
How do I manually get sagetv to tune into the correct qam channel and have
it map to such and such on the real program guide?

Pulling in Analog and QAM channels

Cervaza,

I am from Michigan and have not tried to pull the QAM channels from the Royal Oak Comcast service as of yet. Just wondering if you are getting the QAM channels from the same cable provider and if so could you share what channels are you getting?

Thanks

I'm in Ann Arbor - Digital.

I have been able to pull in the feed from the Comcast box on the analog
connector for a long time now.

Would love to make use of the QAM tuner now.

When I ran the WinTV utility to search for channels
It found channels from 2008 to 2795.

Many of the channels repeat I think for diff screen resolutions.
I don't have an HDTv yet to test for sure.
For example... Fox 2 shows up on channels 2207, and 2571 on the digital tuner.

When I choose channel 2 on the program guide, how do I make sage
pick the correct channel on the cable box or off the QAM tuner.
The sage software is detecting the digital tuner, but does not tune
into any of the channels. The wintv utility is able to tune and display those
channels just fine. How do I setup these digital channels so that
they are usable now?

Help..

Check out this post: remap qam.
I don't use the HVR1600 but i think the basic remap instructions are still the same. It may also be helpful to refer to the HDHomerun website and use their listings for the QAM channels. Listings for Ann Arbor

I did everything in the Setup doc up until I get to
sage scanning for channels.

The WinTV utility sees all the avil qam channels.
When I tell sage to scan for avil channels, it finds Zero.

So I'm stuck at that point.
