Guide Updates

Boy, I sent in a bug report saying that my guide was updating around 7:45 PM. Every time it does this I get about a 15 second stall and my HD goes crazy. I figured it was better to do it later at night.

However, tonight it saved me . The prime-time lineup changed due to a "Presidential News Conference". Sage rescheduled all the recordings.

Not so sure I don't like that update time now . Good job Sage!

I am in a quandary with my update time. I forced a reload tonight so I could work around the presidential news conference, but I prefer my update time to be after 10:00 p.m. so I can get three full days of listings. I really wished that I could change the number of days over which that Sage does its scheduling. I really miss the TiVo's 13 day schedule.

Way OT, but...

This is so far OT as to be from another planet, but have you seen the new Cartoon Network Schedule? Well, we were talking about listings, right?

They're still running FLCL? They need to move on. Same thing with inu yasha and trigun. How many times are they gonna show those series?

Considering the number of times they replay the programs, they are waiting until 75% of their audience can turn off the sound and say the dialog themselves Although InuYasha is suppose to start with new episodes when it gets to the end of the rerun cycle.

They've only run it twice, and that was last fall. It's not like DBZ that they continually pound into the ground, like when they were showing something like 10 episodes/day

At least there are some new shows in that schedule. FWIW, they're showing "The Animatrix" Saturday night 4/17 10-12CDT, that one surprised me.

I got it on SVCD (well 3) that I made from when it was on Pay per View
And I am surprised as well
There is no way that the Animatrix could be edit, is there?
It would be so chopped up, if not a definite maunal recording
You know how hard it is to put in a SVCD(or DVD) when it is on TV

How do you force a reload of the guide data in Sage ? I was thinking of posting this question separately ... but thought I'll try here first

<EDIT>
Found the answer here

Ideally there should be a forced update option which would allow you to update whenever you felt the need. Our primetime schedule is often changed at the last moment esp during basketball season, they 'bounce' the primetime schedule all over the week with primetime shows popping up anywhere from midnight to early Saturday morning. Obviously accuracy is dependent on the guide provider but a late forced update more often than not does the job.

IMHO it's needed in practical application, you really shouldn't have to 'trick' the software.

peace...

What happened to witch hunter robin? They show the first 9 episodes and cut it?

Just wait, it will be back Or, you can do like me and get the DVDs as they come out (it does have a slightly different feel in Japanese).

I'll probably just netflix it. Anime is the only reason I subscribe to netflix.com anyway.
