Playback Issue: Video freezes for 10secs

I've been having a strange issue with playback of recorded TV shows recently. All playback is on different HD200's in the house. Using latest version of SageTV and latest firmware for HD200.

On occasion, playback freezes for about 10 seconds give or take a few and then all of the sudden the audio starts playing as the video fast forwards to catch up to where it would have been had it played back normally during the 'pause'.

Anyone else experienced this? Suggestions before I submit a trouble ticket?

Thanks

i see something similar occasionally, with random recordings. If i skip forward (whether a 10s, 30s, 2min, or commercial "chapter" jump) the audio starts right up normally; however, the video looks like it starts 2-10 seconds earlier then fast forwards until it catches up with the audio, then everything is normal. I haven't submitted an issue ticket for it because a) im lazy, and b) it hasn't annoyed me enough yet to do anything about it.

(all viewing on the hd200 with the latest beta firmware (although its been doing it off and on for a while), server is 6.6.2 on win2003)

Same Here

At first, I thought it was fragmentation on my server (and still am not sure if that may be the cause).

I've seen similar results minus the 10 second freeze.

It's probably a drive access issue of some sort. Whether it's fragmentation, or not I can't say, but it certainly does sound like a delay in accessing the data.

Yeah, it's happening me. It seems to come and go but if I unplug the hd 200 and give it a sec then plug it back in (I really wish it had a hard power off button) it seems to go away for while.

I'm using powerline ethernet and thought maybe that might be involved but the behavior seems too regular once it starts, not random like an intermittent network issue.

I had the same problem on my HD200 but when i shut the sagetv interface on the server down and just let it run the background service the problem dissappears..

Not a very good solution though, now i need to start the sagetv interface everytime i want to watch tv on in my livingroom and shut it when i want to watch on the extenders.

This has just started happening to me (out of the blue). Anyone have any fixes or ideas?

When it was happening to me, it was a drive issue. On that particular drive, if anything else hit it (like a sage record!) while I was playing back, I had the problem. I retired the drive and the problem went away.
