Can I manually update my EPG with XMLTV if I have no internet service on my HTPC?

Hello -

Im getting rid of my home ISP and my HTPC will no longer have internet access to update the EPG.

From what Ive read, I think I'll be able to install XMLTV and then manually drop an XML file I get from my laptop to the HTPC to update the guide and show listings? Or am I reading that wrong?

Thanks!

Yes you can do this.

I used the same method for a while. Also with a laptop and HTPC actually!

Software to download & create the xml on the laptop
Copy it to the windows share of the right folder on the SageTV machine.
XML importer picks it up next time it runs.

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask what program you are using to download and create the XML file? I downloaded the XMLTV app, but it seems to be missing the tv_grab_na and some of the perl files in the Windows build....

Nevermind, I figured it out. The linux version compared to the windows version are built a little differently. the tv_grab_na_dd is built into the exe for windows. Nothing is missing. Thx again
