XMLTV plug-in and Native EPG service

I am having tremendous difficulty getting both the XMLTV plug-in needed to import the XML data for my STB AND using the native EPG service for the digital tuner in my machine.

So far, someone mentioned to me that you could not have BOTH plug-ins AND the service running - it is either or.

If this is true, how to I get a listing of local stations in my area for all the OTA digital stations without having to pay for the listing (I technically already paid for it by purchasing SageTV)?

If I CAN have both running, can someone tell me how to setup the sagetv.properties file to use both?

If you're getting data for other channels from the native guide service, your locals should be included. Why do you need both?

Sorry, let me better explain....

The STB that I am using on my machine does not subscribe to any EPG services (i.e. zap2it), so there is someone out there that produces the EPG for it in XML format (XMLTV). In order to add the EPG for this to SageTV, I needed to use an XMLTV plugin (homespun).

The issue is that if I use this plug-in to load the EPG into the system, I now am at a disadvantage as I am no longer able to load the EPG for my digital tuner using the SageTV service for local over-the-air scheduling.

The SageTV EPG service is provided through SageTV (via zap2it listings) and cannot be used in conjunction with a plug-in (at least this is my question). If I want to download the feed, it will cost me a contract fee to use something like zap2it or schedulesDirect.

If there is NO WAY of using both the plug-in AND the SageTV service (1 for the STB, the other for the ATSC OTA broadcasts), is there a way to contact the SageTV service (since I am a licensed user) and download the listings programatically and import the listings?

It suprises me that you cannot have more than 1 EPG service running in the PVR and assign each tuner independantly to use a particular service.
