New HD Theater user - help needed
I got the HD Theater just after Christmas, and have been playing with it on and off since, I updated to the latest beta firmware at the time.
I'm using it in stand alone mode with a NTFS usb hard drive and have it connected to a 1080p plasma via HDMI. I'm in the process of converting my DVD collection to h264 and muxing everything into a mkv container. The files playback fine except your video and subtitle settings are not remembered, which means every time you watch a movie you have to stretch the video to fill the screen and enable the subs. The other problem is the chapter file inside the mkv doesn't seem to work, I've used the forward and back buttons but they don't skip to the same positions as the original movie chapters. Works fine on the computer. Is there a way to save the video and subtitle settings for file playback? The other thing I haven't figured out is how do I get a file to playback from the beginning instead of the last position? Any help is appreciated. |

Alright after updating to the latest beta firmware 201001181 and another round of testing I figured out how to get the video to fill the screen by default.
When playing a video, press the options button, Aspect Ratio mode, select the AR you want, press the right arrow and make it the default aspect ratio. Does anyone know how to resume file playback from the beginning? When playing back ripped DVD and BDMV folders a dialogue box pops up asking if you want to resume or start playback from the beginning. You don't see this with file playback. Problems I have come across during testing: Subtitles Subtitles seem to be disabled by default, every time I play a file I have to press the options button and enable them. Most of my videos are mkv files, I remuxed one and forced the playback of the default subtitle track but that had no effect. Is there a setting to turn them on by default for file playback like the above AR mode setting? Playback Selected audio or subtitle settings are not remembered when resuming playback. Ripped DVD folder The Drunken Master (Jackie Chan) Chinese audio 2.0 English subs selected. When resuming playback audio track remembered, subtitles are disabled. Ripped Blu-Ray BDMV folder Sword of The Stranger (Anime), Japanese audio 5.1 English subs selected. When resuming playback audio track 1(English 5.1) is selected, subtitles are disabled. Ripped Blu-Ray Main Movie.m2ts file Paprika (Anime), Japanese 5.1 audio English subs selected. When resuming playback audio track 1(Japanese 2.0) is selected. I'm not sure if the above are bugs with the beta firmware or known limitations. If these problems can be sorted I'll be happy. Is anyone else having similar problems or should I fire off a support ticket? Thanks Hakwe |
