After looking for a bit, I have two questions.

(1) Will this plugin support the "Play Movie" feature of My Movies Collection manager?
(2) This is more of a My Movies Collection Question.

Does that work if you are running on XP - or does it require WMC for some reason?
1. Don't know what the play movie feature is....could you explain
2. I believe it works without WMC. I know the WHS version does it but I also think it is a points requirement thing (I know it is for WHS but not sure on xp) you also must have anydvd or anydvdhd running on the pc to remove encryption.

it works just fine in regular cm. You do have to have anydvd installed and it will promt you to rip the disc and store it based on your configuration settings in cm.

I think what he is referring to the ability for cm to use an alternate player or something like that. I could be wrong.

Sorry, the poorly named, "Play Movie" is one of the point features for MM.

Play Movie (2500 points)

Default, when playing a DVD, you are taken directly to the menu, and have to go through trailers for other titles, selection of audio, subtitles and similar. With the Play movie function, you can skip this step, and configure My Movies to always directly play the actual movie, skipping all other things. Especially for small children this option makes it much easier.

Sage does that natively if you set a property it will skip the movies. (or you just rip without menu's like I do.)

Plucky, thanks, I will look into that setting. I have been backing up wthout menus.. But it seems like one of the benefits of MM is the ability to drop a disc in, have it figure out what it is, back it up and assign the metadata. I wasn't sure if that was the more supported and easier way to go moving forward.

Thanks.

Definately easier to copy that way yes. I can't remember off the top of my head what the property is to make it skip to the movie automatically.

I am sorry I won't release Friday as promised.

I guess I will have to update the videos because it wasn't released on the day the videos promised.

Does anyone know what that property setting is?
And, how is it different from the MM "play movie" option that is available for purchase?

Really interested in this, since I've been using MM on WHS for unattended ripping of the complete disk for a while now. I tried using the MM setting to just rip the movie, not the menus and previews, etc., but that doesn't always work reliably, so I just stuck with ripping the whole disk in VOB folder format. Would love to find a way to automatically skip straight to the movie when watching a DVD rip.
